Listening is part of singing. Listening informs singing. You have to listen to sing.

To get comfortable spontaneously creating, we have to listen in new ways. Listen for the musicality in everything. Listen to conversations, listen to the radio, the traffic, listen to thunderstorms and rainfall, the kitchen sink.

Most of all, we have to listen to how other human beings have learned to use this tiny, complex, powerful, responsive instrument that lives between our minds and our hearts.
