Web Wanderings (#3)

Posted by on Apr 04 2010 | Songtaneous

When you write a blog, you spend a lot of time wandering the web. Meandering online helps me come up with ideas for blog posts. Another thing that inspires are the blogs I read. I’ve found a lot of valuable, interesting, funny and just downright bizarre stuff in cyberspace. A lot of it never grows up to be a Songtaneous blog post. This post includes a cornucopia of things I’ve come across during my virtual travels. …

From the smallest of small …

Within a couple of days, I stumbled upon these two stories about how music works in nature from the “smallest of small to the largest of all.”

Bloggity goodness

  • Pam Slim writes a great blog about transitioning from cube to calling.
  • Here is one post I don’t have to write thanks to the Mindful Time Management blog. (Don’t forget to read part 2.)

Art as exercise

Thefuntheory.com is “dedicated to the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behavior for the better.”

Don’t try this at home. Actually, just don’t try this. *smile*

Food for Thought (#44)

“Although high salaries and prestigious titles are nice, they alone generally do not bring about occupational wellness.

An occupationally well person truly likes his or her work, feels a connection to others in the workplace, and has opportunities to learn and be challenged.

An ideal job draws on your passions and interests, as well as your vocational skills, and allows you to feel that you are contributing to society in your everyday work.”
– Fit & Well: Core concepts and labs in physical fitness and wellness. (Fahey, Insel, Roth, p. 4)
